Paul Norman
Paul Norman (October 1951 – June 27, 2004) was Chief Scientist for Detection and Protection〔(House of Commons Hansard Written Answers for Nov 30, 2006 (pt 0002) )〕 at the Ministry of Defence’s laboratory at Porton Down, Wiltshire and member of the Royal Society. He was well considered to be a leader in his field and a pioneer against the use of biological and chemical weapons. Norman died on 27 June 2004 when the light aircraft he was piloting crashed. Two others died on the scene of the accident, one other member of the party died later in hospital. He is survived by his wife and two children.
